In living rooms especially, people tend to use floor standards and table lamps not really ceiling lights. As this is a room people use to chill out. To be energy efficient aswell there are lots of low energy fittings that are really attractive now. Or, use low energy lamps in table lamps and floor standards as these tend to be used more than central ceiling lights in living rooms.
