I was thinking to upgrade my laptop ram from 512mb to 2 GB last week. I have checked the price for 2 x 1 GB ram is selling at US$50-US$100 only which I think is quite reasonable. So, I brought the laptop to the shop lot and decided to upgrade it. I got a bit shocked when I ask for the price after the technical checked my laptop; according to him, it will cost me US$300 to upgrade the ram to 2 x 1 GB!

WTF! Stupid I, the price of US50-US100 is actually for the DDR2 ram and my laptop is using DDR1 ram. Oh my! I bought the laptop one year ago, and I never know the laptop part could be so expensive. I heard from the technician the price for DDR1 ram will increase again, due to short of supply. Well, should I upgrade it now? Headache! US$300 is definitely out of my budget.
