How To Upgrade WordPress Version

Published by msaufong at 6:08 am under Webmaster, wordpress

I finally know how to upgrade wordpress version after few tried. Actually it wasn’t difficult at all. What you have to do is BACKUP every before you do the upgrade!

Step 1: Backup

I’m using ftp to backup all the file, this might be slow but this is the most easy for someone who don’t know computer language or phpMyAdmin stuff like me. :p ..Back up whole the blog folder to your hard disk.

Step 2 : Download the latest version of Wordpress and get ready to install.

Step 3: Deactivate Plugins

Remember to deactivate all the plugins in wordpress.

Step 4 : Delete old wordpress files

Delete all file EXCEPT below:

* wp-config.php file;

* wp-content folder; (whole folder)

* wp-includes/languages/ folder–if you are using a language file, do not delete this folder;.

* .htaccess file–if you have added custom rules to your .htaccess, do not delete it;

Step 5: Upload the new files

Upload all the new wordpress file, except above file and folder.

Step 6: Run the WordPress upgrade program

ttp://example.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php and enter.

THE END!
