With or Without WWW

I still not very clear about tthe different with and without the www infront of the domain name. I thought they should be the same.

http://msaufong.com/myhomerecipe

http://www.msaufong.com/myhomerecipe

Don’t you think both these above URLs are the same? Well, at least I thought it is. But the problem is Google will read your WWW and non-WWW as two different versions of your site. My Home Recipe are indexed by Google without the www. So when now I’m checking the PR for below different ur, I will get :-

http://msaufong.com/myhomerecipe - PageRank 3
http://www.msaufong.com/myhomerecipe - PageRank 0

I get nothing if someone link me at the url with WWW because they aren’t being passed. And won’t help me increasing my PR at all. Hopefully I will find some nice solution for this..
